Your family hotel in the Salzburg region
These are the little moments that stay with you: the children’s laughter as they whizz down the slide for the third time. The pride on the face of the grandmother sitting on a bench outside the Alpine hut with her grandson. The look you share when everyone is full, sun-kissed, and happy.
It’s precisely these moments that inspire us, the Innerhofer family, to run Smaragdhotel and that make this the perfect place for your family holiday in the Salzburg region. Your family hotel in Austria with a pool
There’s that moment when your children see the indoor pool for the first time: their eyes light up, their swimwear is on in record time, and you can feel that holiday feeling really kick in. At your family hotel in Austria with a pool, the water becomes the whole family’s favourite spot. In the Sternenhimmel indoor pool, the little ones splash about in their own children’s pool whilst you swim your laps. If you like, you can swim straight from the warm indoor pool into the outdoor pool. This is what a family holiday in Austria feels like when everything comes together.
The National Park Summer Card Mobil is a real gem.
As soon as you arrive at reception on the day of your arrival, we’ll hand you a card containing wonderful ideas for your holiday programme. Yes, that’s the National Park Summer Card Mobil, and with us it’s included from your first night’s stay.
With it, you can take the mountain railways up to Wildkogel free of charge. You can take the hiking taxi to the Habachtal, visit show mines, water parks, museums, and wildlife parks, and use the region’s railways.
Anyone comparing child-friendly hotels in Austria will quickly realise: the Summer Card makes all the difference.
Out and about with Andrea – when hikes turn into stories
Our hiking and family guide Andrea knows the mountains around Smaragdhotel like the back of her hand, knows every farmer in the valley by their first name, and has a solution for every situation.
“Nothing is impossible; there’s a solution for everything”, says Andrea.
It is precisely this spirit that turns her tours into experiences your children will remember for years to come.
Here are Andreas’ top 3 experience tips:
- Mountain fishing at 1,600 metres above sea leve
Andrea will take you up to the mountain lake, fishing rod in tow. If you catch a fish, our kitchen team will prepare your catch fresh that evening. Pure pride at the family table, and good luck with your fishing included.
- A day at Penkernhof, just for children (July & August)
Andrea is not only a guide, but also a farmer at Penkernhof. Your children can spend a whole day with her getting a taste of farm life, feeding the animals, rolling around in the hay, and baking bread. And you? You have a day all to yourself. A lounger, the spa, or finally finishing that chapter of the book that’s been waiting for months.
- Exclusive: Alpaca visit with a short hike
Only available here: a visit to the alpacas followed by a short hike in the company of these fluffy four-legged friends. Sparkling children’s eyes guaranteed, and a photo for the family album that will always bring back fond “Do you remember?” memories.
Andrea also explores the area by mountain bike, e-bike, and on the classic hiking trails of the Wildkogel Arena [LINK wanderhotel-salzburger-land].
